Does anyone know what engine will Telmex Chip Ganassi with Felix Sabates will use next year, since what I last heard Lexus was pulling out  from Grand-Am.

Seemed perfectly obvious to me -- Ganassi never uses American products if he can avoid it*, which leaves out Chevy and Ford; and Porsche seems fairly solidly behind Hurley's bunch; so that leaves BMW among the available engines, unless he tries to bring in a completely new make.

[*: And when he does, he goes for the American Company Owned By Foreigners -- can you say "Dodge"?]

Like Penske, Ganassi is a mercenary and an opportunist, and will team up with ANYBODY if it advances his agenda.

I think it's more about trying to get an advantage over the competition rather than being a mercenary and opportunist as you suggest.

It's harder to beat the team next to you if you're running the same equipment.  Like anything, there is some inherent risk in taking this approach, but with enough funding and support it can be worth the effort.

I have always felt there was more to be gained by trying to stay loyal and build relationships and build on what you have instead of always chasing the next big thing.  In NASCAR, those that follow that philosophy, win championships (Hendrick, Roush, Childress, Gibbs until 2008), those that haven't, Ganassi, Penske, Petty, etc, don't.  I have found in my own lfe and in business, that there will be ups and downs in relationships, but in the end loyalty pays dividends.

Read into it what you want ...but the bottom line is that lexus paid for the right to have the motors in the 01.....and they are not going to pay for it any more.......dinan is a small but very pro operation...so i dont see them paying for it ..so i wouldnt be surprised if nascar is flipping the tab for this one also...great oppertunity for the dinan guys ...they have always had one of the strongest and best running mills out there.....best of luck
