I was in Daytona yesterday for meetings so I took a drive over to the track to look at the chicane area. It might not be that easy since there is only a narrow road between the lake and the inner wall where the chicane is. There is no way there could be stands put up there since there is no space, but possibly toward turn 3 a bit. Don't count on this one, guys.

OK, 68 more days... yes, the bustop would be an awesome viewing experience... limited view, but still worth a trip...I worked the bustop as corner marshall for several days during bike weeks...yes, exciting !... there is an area to outside of the turn that could be easily accessed from permiter of racetrack, and it is my understanding that will be a hospitality entertainment area for other speedweek events... so why not a grandstand for the 24 ?... there is a speedway guy that does come to this board close to event that may come back or monitor. The bustop is not an area you would want to stay for long periods but is a nice diversion... r.

Above is aerial view of the exit of Bus Stop Chicane. Square area at edge of lake could accommodate a small grandstand for viewing. Red and white rectangles are motor vehicles. There is enough space there for a grandstand for the fans.

I was going to post a picture like that but my personal satelite has been down since the bottle rockets laden with repair parts failed to correct the situation. I'm going to tape them together so as one expires it lights the other - that should do it. I just wish there was some website that had views of the world accessible to everyone without charge. Maybe some day!

We've all seen seen the action that goes on there with the protos bunching up with the gts, a very shaky section indeed, this turn deserves seating.

I want to bump this up to the top.
I know mlewis@daytonainternationalspeedway.com is the man that can make this happen.
I appreciate all who have expressed their desire to also enjoy a close up view of the Chicane.
