Does anyone know when/if the Camaro is coming to Koni?  I haven't seen or heard any news since January.

What I had originally heard was there wasn't much going on with the car until the production version hit the streets. Parts availability was zero, thus keeping the car off the track until that issue was resolved.. I think with the car now hitting the streets, and parts slowly coming into stock, it shouldn't be long before someone actually runs the car in a race.

Look for news about the Riley Camaros in a couple weeks.  They'll be out there soon.

Riley Technologies Camaro to debut at VIR
Date     2009-07-09

Riley Technologies Camaro Set for 2009 KONI Challenge Debut

Mooresville, NC (9 July 2009)-- After months of anticipation, America's hottest new car has started to hit the streets nationwide and before the end of the year, will be hitting the tracks as well.

The all-new 2010 Chevrolet Camaro has been making a big impression wherever it rolls up, and Riley Technologies expects the machine to have a similar effect when it makes a competition debut in the Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge in the season-ending event at Virginia International Raceway on October 2-4.

While the dynamics of the current automotive industry altered the originally planned competition deployment schedule for the Camaro, Riley Technologies has moved forward with the program with five Camaros already sold and in production.

Three of those are expected to take the green flag in the 6-hour enduro, which will close out the 2009 KONI season as the teams prepare for a full season campaign for the 2009 championship.

"We are really excited about seeing this Camaro on track at VIR in October," said Riley Technologies VP Bill Riley, who has also been active with the deployment of the immensely capable new Riley Track Day Car. "We are moving forward full-speed with this program, and we are excited about the caliber of teams that are going to be racing the new Camaro. They will all expect, and we fully plan on, delivering the same high level of support at the track that we do with all of our Daytona Prototype and GT Class customers."

The Camaro, which will compete in the top Grand Sport (GS) class of KONI Challenge competition, will be going head to head against the Ford Mustang, Porsche 911, and BMW M3 for honors in one of the country's most competitive categories. Riley Technologies, which will look to secure a sixth consecutive Manufacturers Championship in Daytona Prototype competition in 2010, is the exclusive builder of the new Camaro for KONI Challenge.

While the October VIR event is likely to see three Camaros on the starting grid, the start of the 2010 KONI Challenge season in January should see an even larger tally of Bowtie Brigade representation, as the championship kicks off at the World Center of Racing.

"As much as we are excited about seeing this car race for the first time at VIR, we are also really looking forward to Daytona next year," said Riley. "The interest in this program has been pretty overwhelming, and we're encouraging teams to make that commitment now to make sure they can secure theirs in time to be ready to go in January."

The American icon's competition footprint is also likely to extend beyond just racing through the Corkscrew and on the high banks at Daytona, as Riley Technologies is addressing strong demand from European customers with a program to prepare the Camaro for competition in the FIA GT4 category.

Riley Technologies has an extended legacy of success, developing competitive on-track products for the Rolex Sports Car Series, the American LeMans Series, the USAC Gold Crown Series, and the Japanese GT Championship Series.

I saw the website and saw the graphics of the car.  It looks SICK.  Just wondering if the car will be allowed to run with the front splitter and the rear diffuser that it shows on the pictures?  Good work though and good luck.
