Villagi now prcoessing the deja vu feeling through definitive osmosis thoughts ....
all the parrot chatter next door reminds of previous incarnations of Pro Street Stock racing in the US ...
not Motorola Cup, FireHawk, Escort or Playboy Challenge (the Powell Racing Corvettes went through the same rites of initiation 25 years ago when it cleaned house with R. Fellows and Scotty G. )  ...
i'm talking the original racing stock series, the IMSA RS Series, of the mid 70's to early 80's, through the Executone and Champion Spark Plug Challenge years. AMC vs Mazda vs Toyota vs Buick vs Datsun (Nissan for the youngsters) vs Dodge, on and on, 70-80 car fields, races coast to coast ...
mostly privateer teams, some factory supported, all making a living racing these cars ...

there will always be knowledgabe, dedicated and experienced teams with the resources at hand that will win races, no matter the platform. Add in great drivers on those teams and they will win consistantly, such is racing.
The ' do it yourself' limited resources teams could never compete at the front back then and will not compete at the front today. Such is racing. In addition, as has been stated here many times, even if you have a well prepped car with an experienced team,  you must have the best drivers on board if you want to win. Not one, but two. The opening driver cannot fall behind 30-60 seconds in his stint, cannot fall off the track, cannot beat and bang the car (throwing off the toe & alignment), and expect the closing driver to bring it back to the front for the last few laps  battle for the win.  Ain't gonna happen unless you have two front line drivers ... ask KT how valuable the Jedi Master has been  to his ST Championship winning effort this year...
all the above is plainly obvious to this idgiot ...

very impressed with Lara Tallman, Sara Cattaneo, Debra Loth   ...  three smooth and fast ladies who raced very well at MMP  ... hopefully Speed will feature them on the upcoming race broadcast show.
Impressive new talents being established this season in the Koni Series ...

^^^    no one wants to comment on the above positive good stuff happening in the Koni Seies this year ?? What aother Series has so many young talented racers, both male and female ?

...  seems like APR is today's most popular girl in school with everyone yapping about her on the other threads ... 12,500 views with 250 replies between the two APR threads
... all squawk about  " are they real (God given OEM) ... or are they enhanced " ?
... all this i don't like the 'outfit' she's wearing talk ...  this board is starting to read like  'Seventeen Magazine' ...
guess it's just the required rites of initiation into the big leagues of winning Pro teams, all part of the game.
VIR in the on deck circle ... " Batter UP " ... hope KT turns CM & RP loose to fly like the eagles they are, not hold em back to insure the points to clinch ...

Lara has got much better in the last few years. It's a classic case of running in ST is a great way to get better because many get in over their head running a GS or Rolex car and never improve. ST allows a driver to improve his or her racecraft without worrying about the second you breathe on throttle, your car turns into a drifting machine. ST might be the lowest on the totem pole but it's the best way for a driver to get better. I even drove my car a few laps around a racetrack, it's actually fun and super easy to drive. Who would have thunked that?

now that's wisdom speaking, truer words have not been spoken ...
and, in ST you actually get to look out da windshield up front with both eyes ...
as JJ says, no fun driving 'heavy metal' while looking in the rear view mirror, while sideways, while getting moved out da way, ('scuse me, sorry, coming thru')  ....

I heard that Sara did a great job the entire weekend but had some mechanical problem during the race (and a few spins as a result).  Anyone know what was up with her "Green Machine"?

Well, for one, Negative always attracts more attention than Positive.

For another, since we *don't get to see this sort of thing due to limited TV coverage*, (hint, hint, hint... :) ), it's difficult to tell just how well they actually do.

As to the capability of these ladies: [insert snarky M**** D*** joke here] :)

Sara did a fantastic job, running consistant 20's with a fast race lap in the high 19's, only 1/2 second off Derek's FRL in the #145 "Green Machine", she had one little miscue, but no mech issue that i'm aware of ....
Lara Tallman was simply brilliant, consistanly in the high 19's with a FRL of 19.2, smooth as silk, this lady can race ....
waiting for Ashley to return next year, only Cobalt racer who could run with Lawson A.
  to all
