To Be or not TV ...
at a min $1.2 M per event, TV is an expensive proposition, even so we have 7 of the 11 events on Speed, with excellent professional coverage compared to the WC show ...
2009 has been an interesting year ; Cobalts started strong in the first few events (Yea Ashley !, remember her, that girl sure can race ), Honda was the real class of the field up till the Glen, APR took over for a few and now ??? for the final two rounds ... just one misstep by the #74 and the funky Jap taxi cab or the little GTI takes the Championship.
Changes in Lattitudes or is it Attitudes or maybe Altitudes ? ;
Will they or will they not ? GA implementing a 'gag' on the Subi and VW just for Miller ??
The 4 hour "Sprint" at VIR will sure be interesting ... 2 pit stops, must be consistant, race will be won in the final 10 minutes.

I didn't know that there was going to be a "gag" on the VW and Subaru. What's this gag going to be? God forbid the boosted cars have to run 2 psi less at Miller. Then, it would be totally unfair if the boosted cars have to run a spec boost recorder.
As for VIR, I was able to make up 48 positions in the first 4 hours of the event in 2008. I heard that for this year, GA is going to make work me the concession stand during the race and that my crew is being fed a steady diet of bacon and deep fried cheesecake for the next 7 weeks. This way, everyone else will have a chance.
Signed,

At that altitude, such a diet could be lethal (clogged arteries plus heart having to work harder at altitude equals chance of vapor-lock). I don't think they want to *kill* you... yet. :)

$1.2 million per televised event? Is that what you're saying?

Its not cheap. Your talking about air time on SPEED, which is owned by FOX, which is owned my an Australian mobster, who happens to be one of the top businessmen in the world.

Big difference between being "not cheap" and costing $1.2 million. That's A LOT OF MONEY.
Australian mobster?
