The question is, what was he doing at 1 a.m 'partying' in Daytona when he had practice at Homestead the next morning. This is not good at all. The fact that the 'news' was edited out of the forums and not on the web-site is not cool either. No one did this to J.C, he did it to himself. He got busted, and rightly so, To be honest, he's lucky he didn't kill anyone; reckless driving around the city while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

We have had some interesting conversations on other sites today. There isn't much you can say here that is negative without the post being removed. I guess the news reports hit a little too close to home.
Grand Am is a great series but there are other places where an honest evaluation is appreciated and allowed.

Not saying its OK, lets not hype this up. I hear about this stuff everyday on the news, the differance is hes got a few bucks and is and is part of a family that is a big part of racing. He should be treated like anyone else that has the same problems.

DangerousDave, I am sure he is a super dude. But if these charges end up being true, then GA needs to look deep into the drug usage among drivers. I am not accusing him of anything, but would anyone want to race against another driver who is stoned on coke? or any other drug? He is a professional and just as others in other sports, he should be liable for his actions. I dont understand why the posts before were erased. We can discuss many things but we cant discuss the Royal France family? doesnt seem fair does it?

Everyone agrees the France family should not be immune from this type of thing, but its not the France family that did this. JC is a driver in the series not the president, not the owner, not anything but a driver. Lets give the France family a break, it wasn't Jim or his wife or his kids. If it were Tracy Krohn or Bob Stallings would we be having the same conversation. I doubt Jim France sat down and said, crush all posts on the web site, lets get real. The guy F!@# #$ end of story, BTW I wonder who won the Lambo or the 911. ( just some more hype for a story that has to much already).

nobody beats JC on the run over the bridge to Alantic Ave
lots of speculative talk here, no one knows the full story, probably woulda never been arrested if it wasn't for his little bro mouthing off to the deputy ... everything here (including me) is speculation ...
others drive a car into a motel swimming pool (stone cold drunk) and are put into the Nascar Hall of Fame, another is convicted of a felony, gets sent to the Fed Pen and ends up going to the HOF (after a Presidential pardon no less) ... our resident Kool Kat youngin jus havin some fun, nothing countless current GA and former IMSA drivers haven't done a hundred times ...
this dawg is a good ole boy, never hurt nobody, lets let it be. A good attorney will negate that field sobriety test, prove illegal grounds for a search and our boy will be back in the saddle in no time. No harm no foul.
You want tabloid fodder ? go back 25-30 years, remember JLP, the Whittington Bros, Randy Lanier, T&R Racing and my favorite ; Pepe Romero, 'el pajaro loco' (raced the pink ex Holbert March GTP at Sebring & Road Atlanta), hell, he even put Emerson F in a car at the Indy 500 ...
jus sayin our current dawg is a choir boy - solid citizen compared to some of the characters of the 'good ole days' of sports car racing ...
ya'll quit the rightous BS ing, he's done nothing we all haven't done before and no harm done to anyone ...

This post edited by sportswriter on 10-09-2009, 9:54 PM EST Call me straight edge but me and the people I run with......um yeah............have never done anything like that. I guess it takes hurting someone in order for your "harm" requirement to be satisfied
