so i was at lowes by DIS and heard sportscars on the track and much to my gfs dismay we headed to the speedway. i peeked a hyundai genesis coupe running with a few corvettes. and you could hear the coupe over the vettes. it was blue in color much like the trg livery. and had a large wing on it that looked like it was about to become a rolex car. could this be the rumor that KB has been saying a car from another manufacturer? or do i need to tell my gf that her 2003 hyundai santa fe is not track ready like she would like to believe?

Did it sound like a V6 or a V8? If V8 it might actually be a prep2 Genesis, if V6 it is probably just someones hopped-up tuner car

it was definetly a v8. it had a body kit. the paint was just blue. like i said it was closer to the trg blue. there was no livery on the car. but it looked to me like it was the 1st stage of testing for a gt before it gets stripped down.it had a full cage in it along with nets on the windows. we had a clock(unofficial) on it and it was beating the vettes around the track but was behind 2 team sponsored vipers. sundays you can get into the speedway free so im gonna keep an eye out. ill let you guys know if i see anything else.

I am betting it wasn't a future GA car considering it was with all of the other non Grand Am cars.  I would love if it was a Rolex car.

Overall, it would be great.  It's great anytime a new car comes into a race series.  But I would hate to see my boys lose to a Hyundai.  More power to them.

With Kia being owned by Hyundai and them starting a Koni program I guess it wouldn't hurt the chances of Hyundai being in the Rolex Series.

Oh, *that* headline I have to see:

"HYUNDAI DEFEATS BMW AT DAYTONA"

The howling will be audible up here in PNW.... >;)
