One of the few honors that Jon Fogarty and the GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Team did not capture in 2009 was the Rolex Move of the Year, which went to Brumos Racing’s victory in the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona. The video of David Donohue holding off TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates’ Juan Pablo Montoya took top honors in balloting on grand-am.com over four other videos, which were led by Fogarty’s race-winning pass of Ganassi’s Scott Pruett atop the... Scott Pruett’s slingshot pass of Alex Gurney in the closing yards of the 2008 race continued a streak of thrilling battles in the Brumos Porsche 250. Gurney had passed Pruett with 13 laps to go and seemed headed to the checkered flag, before Pruett managed to pull off a slingshot pass and win by a then-record .081 seconds.   The roles were reversed between the two teams in 2007. Jon Fogarty, Gurney’s co-driver in the No. 99 GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Pontiac Riley, was... Read More

"Why couldn't this be the last lap?" I wondered. From that point, the biggest question was what team would join that pair on the podium. Ruby Tuesday, AIM Autosport, Michael Shank Racing, Krohn Racing, SAMAX and Brumos all ran in the top three down the stretch, challenged by Doran Racing, Rum Bum Racing,... Read More

Daytona in the summertime means the daily opportunity for a brief thundershower. Will we have one tomorrow evening? That's one of the main topics in the garage as teams unload their cars and equipment for tomorrow's busy day. Jordan Taylor was seen walking around the Beyer hauler. He has one race at Daytona -- running in GT in this year's Rolex 24 -- but has yet to take a lap here in a Daytona Prototype. In addition to the blog we will be posting regular updates on the Grand-Am news page.... Read More
