Well, it’s the last race of the year this weekend at Homestead. Unfortunately, we’re not in the position that we were hoping for in the championship race. We took a lead into Montreal two races ago, but for whatever reason, we weren’t able to get the job done and now we need some help to try to defend our championship from last year.

Well, Utah didn’t go as we hoped and we’re a bit behind the eight-ball now in terms of winning another championship.
Overall, it was a bit of a difficult weekend for our No. 01 TELMEX Lexus. Memo (Rojas) was sick all weekend and spent the better part of Friday back in the hauler wheezing and coughing. Unfortunately things didn’t go as well as we had hoped at Montreal. It seems like every time we’d move to rain tires, it would dry out, and every time we went to slicks, it would rain. So now we have two races to go and the next one up is Miller Motorsports Park just outside of Salt Lake City.

Pruett: Disappointing Montreal Weekend
Well, it was a disappointing weekend in Montreal to say the least. With a 10th-place finish, we’ve now fallen into a tie for second-place, five points out of first.

Well, it’s back to the track this weekend in Montreal. We’re now about seven months and nine races from when we started the season with the Rolex 24 At Daytona and amazingly, for the most part, not much has changed.
Everyone at Chip Ganassi Racing knew coming into the season that if we wanted to win a championship for the No. 01 TELMEX Lexus that were going to have to beat the No. 99 and the No. 10. The season was starting with a clean slate, everyone dead-even....

It was really a bit of a bizarre race at Watkins Glen. We normally run two-hour and 45-minute sprint races, but Friday’s race was just two hours and that, along with the timing of the full-course cautions, really resulted in a variety of strategies out there.

Well, it’s starting to come down to the wire with just four races to go, and we head to Watkins Glen this weekend.

Well, we assumed the biggest issue we’d face at Barber would be the weather and instead, it turned out to be a very comfortable 80 degrees. It was a great day to race and perfect day for all the fans that came out to the track today.
As far as the race itself, we had a really good car today, but a problem with our air jack really hurt us and may have eventually cost us a chance at winning. We probably lost 15 to 20 seconds on each of our two stops and on a tight track like...

After a week off, it’s back to preparing for our next race at the Barber Motorsports Park this weekend. Well, it actually wasn’t a week off. Immediately after our race at Daytona, I went with the Ganassi Cup team up to Road Atlanta to help them work on a number of things for their road course setups in preparation for the Watkins Glen race in a couple of weeks.
