One of the few honors that Jon Fogarty and the GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing Team did not capture in 2009 was the Rolex Move of the Year, which went to Brumos Racing’s victory in the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona.
The video of David Donohue holding off TELMEX Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates’ Juan Pablo Montoya took top honors in balloting on grand-am.com over four other videos, which were led by Fogarty’s race-winning pass of Ganassi’s Scott Pruett atop the...

Well, it’s the last race of the year this weekend at Homestead. Unfortunately, we’re not in the position that we were hoping for in the championship race. We took a lead into Montreal two races ago, but for whatever reason, we weren’t able to get the job done and now we need some help to try to defend our championship from last year.
At this point, all we can do is go out and do our best and win this weekend at Homestead. The track is made up of using the Homestead...

Hi there, Nic here again. Well, I’ve been out of the loop for a few weeks because I’ve been in Europe testing on a project that is supported and involves GM Motorsports. The project is based on the new Camaro for the Scandinavian market. They are racing in something they call the Camaro Cup in Sweden and it’s very popular. It’s similar to what Trans-Am has here in the States. The new Camaro is based on a tube frame chassis built in the United States by HOWE Racing, who...

Well, Utah didn’t go as we hoped and we’re a bit behind the eight-ball now in terms of winning another championship.
Overall, it was a bit of a difficult weekend for our No. 01 TELMEX Lexus. Memo (Rojas) was sick all weekend and spent the better part of Friday back in the hauler wheezing and coughing. Truthfully, for as bad as he felt, he really did a great job. He qualified third on Friday and then came back in the race and was able to maintain a spot in the top-five...

Unfortunately things didn’t go as well as we had hoped at Montreal. It seems like every time we’d move to rain tires, it would dry out, and every time we went to slicks, it would rain. So now we have two races to go and the next one up is Miller Motorsports Park just outside of Salt Lake City.
But before I get to this weekend’s race, let me mention what we did between Montreal and Miller. We did a test session out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and it went really...

NASCAR Vice President of Corporate Communications Jim Hunter weighs in with a special blog that addresses a competitive concept being proposed by a rival of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series.
Every once in a while, the hair on the back of my neck stands up when someone’s remarks about NASCAR or Grand-Am seem to be hitting below the belt.
There’s some misleading chatter coming from another sanctioning body in recent weeks which prompts me to get on my Grand-Am soapbox....

Pruett: Disappointing Montreal Weekend
Well, it was a disappointing weekend in Montreal to say the least. With a 10th-place finish, we’ve now fallen into a tie for second-place, five points out of first.
The most disappointing part of this weekend was that our No. 01 TELMEX Lexus was a very good car in dry conditions and we were only .012 away from winning the pole. Unfortunately, you don’t get points for qualifying and you don’t get to choose what conditions you...

Indianapolis … “The Racing Capital of the World.” Wednesday, nine Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16 teams unloaded in the garage, preparing for Thursday’s special test.
Some were in awe of the 100-year-old facility. “This is C-O-O-L,” said GT championship leader Leh Ken, joined by his dad, McGrath. “I was walking out of the front straight, by the yard of bricks, and it was real exciting. Then I thought, wow,...

Well, it’s back to the track this weekend in Montreal. We’re now about seven months and nine races from when we started the season with the Rolex 24 At Daytona and amazingly, for the most part, not much has changed.
Everyone at Chip Ganassi Racing knew coming into the season that if we wanted to win a championship for the No. 01 TELMEX Lexus that were going to have to beat the No. 99 and the No. 10. The season was starting with a clean slate, everyone dead-even....
